They have so much wealth within their structures and in the personal wealth of those that lead and largely own them, they are corrupting the political process, especially in the US. In Europe, they have single-payer health care and free college, but these things are unthinkable right now in the US and we're always at war. <br /><br />I've been reading Thom Hartmann lately and he advocates raising taxes on all, but progressively on the very wealthy as a means of raising wages, where tax cuts have lead to lower wages lower consumer demand, higher unemployment.
